Accessibility Statement.

Our commitment

Mênê Consulting wants this site to be usable by as many people as possible, including people who browse with a keyboard, a screen reader, magnification, or with animation turned off.

We aim to meet WCAG 2.2 Level AA. That is a target we design and build against, not a certification we hold. The section on known issues below sets out where we currently fall short or have not yet checked.

What we have done

Structure and navigation

• Every page begins with a skip link so keyboard users can jump straight past the header to the main content.
• Pages use real headings in order, real lists, real buttons and real links, so assistive technology can present the structure rather than guess at it.
• The language of each page is declared, so a screen reader pronounces it correctly.
• The navigation menu can be opened, moved through and closed with the keyboard, and the current page is marked for assistive technology, not only by colour.

Seeing and reading

• Body text and interface labels meet the AA contrast minimum of 4.5:1 against their background. Our lightest grey was measured at 3.14:1 and was darkened until it passed at 4.63:1.
• Text is set in relative units and reflows when you zoom to 200% or increase your browser’s default font size.
• Colour is never the only way information is conveyed.
• Every image carries alternative text, and images that are purely decorative are marked as such so screen readers skip them rather than announce noise.

Interaction

• A visible focus outline is drawn on every interactive element, with a lighter version on dark sections so it stays visible there.
• Touch targets on small screens are at least 44 by 44 pixels.
• Filters, accordions and the training catalogue are operable by keyboard, and their expanded or selected state is exposed to assistive technology.

Works without JavaScript

The site is built so that the content is in the page markup itself. Animation and filtering are added on top. If scripts fail or are blocked, the pages still render as readable documents rather than collapsing to a blank screen.

Motion and animation

This site uses a good deal of movement: elements fade in as you scroll, artwork drifts, headings reveal, and the client logo strip scrolls continuously.

You can turn this on in your operating system: Settings → Accessibility → Visual effects → Animation effects on Windows, or System Settings → Accessibility → Display → Reduce motion on macOS and iOS. Your browser passes the setting to us automatically.

Nothing on the site flashes more than three times per second.

Known issues

We would rather list these than claim they do not exist:

• No independent audit. The site has been checked by us against WCAG 2.2 AA, but it has not been audited by an external accessibility specialist, and it has not been tested with every screen reader and browser combination.
• The client logo strip moves on its own. It pauses when you hover over it and stops entirely under reduced motion, but there is no explicit pause control on the page itself, which WCAG asks for on moving content.
• Alternative text on abstract artwork. Several images are abstract renders used as atmosphere. They are marked decorative where they carry no information, but the descriptions on the ones that do could be more useful.
• The enquiry form hands off to your email client. It validates in the page and then opens your own email application. If you have no email client configured, that handoff will not work, and the alternative is to email or telephone us directly.
• Documents. Where we send proposals or reports as PDFs, those files may not yet be tagged for screen readers. Ask us and we will provide the content in an accessible format.

These are on our list to address. If one of them is blocking you now, contact us and we will help directly while we fix it.

Compatibility

The site is built to current web standards and tested on recent versions of Chrome, Edge, Firefox and Safari, on desktop, tablet and phone.

It should work with screen readers that support those browsers, including NVDA, JAWS, VoiceOver and TalkBack. Older browsers that do not support modern CSS will show a plainer page, but the content will still be readable.

If a fix will take longer, we will say so and offer another way to get you the information or the service in the meantime.

Status of this statement

This statement applies to the Mênê Consulting website. It was prepared on the basis of our own review of the site, including checks of the page structure, keyboard operation, reduced-motion behaviour and measured colour contrast.

We review it whenever the site changes substantially, and at least once a year. The date at the top of this page is when it was last revised.
